Episode 70 - Matt Wilson (Set Your Goals, Near Dark)

Matt Wilson is one of the vocalists and co-founders of Set Your Goals, a band from Northern California that successful blended the pop punk and hardcore genres and built an impressive following with their relentless touring cycles, energetic live performances and catchy lyrics. 

We talk about hilarious tour stories with bands like Fireworks and Saves The Day, the various recording processes with each record and the infamous Raspberry Cool incident. You'll also hear about what Matt's up to nowadays, his new band Near Dark and his recent profound love for mushrooms.  How about the time Matt met Robin Williams on the set of Mrs. Doubtfire (1993)? Episode 69 - Nick Diener (The Swellers)

Nick Diener is mostly remembered as the frontman of the Michigan-based pop punk band The Swellers. Nowadays, he runs a company called Oneder Effects that builds specialized and custom guitar pedals for musicians everywhere. Over 9 years of being on the road and hundreds of shows later, Nick is still fully captivated within the music scene, immersing himself into his newest business venture. 

We talk about the longevity of the band, producing records for Hot Mulligan and raising his family in Michigan. We also touch upon his 20 years of maintaining a vegan diet, how a friend of his would microwave his fecal matter and how he adjusted to life again after sleeping on floors for a decade.

Episode 68 - Joe Boynton (Transit, narrowcast.)

Joe Boynton is most notably remembered as the vocalist of the Massachusetts rock band, Transit. Nowadays, he's got a brand new music project called narrowcast. that blends many different genres including shoe gaze, emo, electronic and indie, but the varying elements don't stop there. It's a very unique sound that can only be heard to believe. Aside from continuing his musical pursuits, Joe has recently become a father, a husband and a home owner. 

We talk about our love for movies, his painstaking history with music and even the one time he got threatened with a grenade! If you think that's wild, wait until you hear some of the other stuff. Joe is a spectacular guy and he brings so much to the conversation, which explains the lengthy runtime of the episodes we do together: we just have an absolute riot. He's the first guest to return for a second episode and I couldn't be more honored to have him back on.

Episode 67 - Sarah Voigt (Terrifier 2)

Sarah Voigt is most known for playing "Barb" in the box-office smash horror movie, Terrifier 2 (2022) that became an overnight success on its theatrical run back in October. She started her career modeling and eventually moved into doing commercial work until fully transitioning into film and television in 2019. She lives bi-coastal by splitting her time in New Orleans and New York, constantly grinding and working towards that next great role. 

In our conversation, she had so much great insight and funny stories to share including a hilarious dance club story, not knowing the full details of the Terrifier 2 script before seeing the final product for herself and how her mom constantly teases her with mashed potato memes!

Episode 66 - Marty York (The Sandlot)

Marty York is most known for his portrayal as "Yeah Yeah" in the classic 90's film, The Sandlot (1993), which is widely regarded as one of the greatest sports films of all time. 2023 marks the 30th Anniversary of the film and Marty is hopeful that the cast will soon get the call for a brand-new reunion that we're hoping will involve a brand new project with all the OG's. 

We talk about Marty's near-fatal car accident in 1997, how his mom provided the horses for Army of Darkness (1992), what really went on in the Sandlot treehouse and so much more! 

You've also probably seen Marty in Boy Meets World or the many guest spots he was cast in thereafter. After a lengthy break from acting, Marty is back on the move in Hollywood nowadays working towards booking new projects.

Episode 65 - Jim Branscome (Cinematic Void)

Jim Branscome is a film programmer based out of Los Angeles. He runs Cinematic Void, which is a monthly cult film series that highlights films of all genres including the lesser known titles to audience favorites that are rarely seen on the screen!

Episode 64 - Steve Barton (Terrifer 2, Dread Central)

Steve Barton is a film producer from NY who also happened to co-found Dread Central. His life has been a constant ever-changing dance for success and he's been steadily progressing throughout all the pitfalls that tried to break up his course. He's been an editor, a writer, an interviewer, a critic and a colleague. His profound love for horror and its community has always kept him hard at work at numerous projects at any given moment, but his support to the indie-filmmaking art form couldn't possibly go unnoticed. 

Terrifier 2 has now reached $10 million at the box office on a $250,000 budget and Steve is the man that made the deal with Cinedigm to help get it distributed to all your local theaters. We chatted about the accidental marketing that took place, which he and the rest of the Terrifier crew had nothing to do with, and how this boost in social media engagement led to a world-wide Art the Clown cult. Steve also gives great industry advice to hopeful filmmakers and why you should never have backup plans if you're wishing to focus on your dream passion.
